INSTRUCTIONS FOR LESSON 1
THE GOAL OF CREATION
Preparation
In preparation for this lesson, read through Genesis 1-3, taking note of God's intended purposes for his creation.
Before starting the lesson, you should obtain the following resources: a) The lecture for this lesson, either in the form of video, audio file, or manuscript. See the link under "The Multimedia Lessons." b) The "Section Study Guides" for the course. Find them under "General Resources to Download for the Course," also found in the section "General Resources." You should download this document onto your computer, in order to use it for studying the lectures.
This lesson has two main sections:

Goals and Objectives of Lesson 1
GOALS
In this lesson, we would like to accomplish the following:
1. We hope you will become excited about studying the Doctrine of Eschatology.
2. We hope you will learn the basic facts regarding the way God's plan for creation has unfolded throughout history, both in the expectations found in the Old Testament and their realizations in the New Testament, and beyond.
3. We hope you make some changes in your life as a response to the teachings of this lesson, especially growing in your appreciation for the way God is leading creation towards his intended purposes.
OBJECTIVES
When you have done the following, it will show that the goals are met:
1. Obtain satisfactory grades on the tests, demonstrating that you can identify the following: a) the cultural mandate, b) the proto-euangelion, c) the implications of each divine-human covenant on our understanding of eschatology, d) the differences between "this age" and the "age to come," and e) the relevance for understanding inaugurated eschatology for today.
2. Complete the questionnaire and answer the application questions in the study guides, showing how you have applied the teachings of the lesson to your own life, especially that you are seeking to live in light of God's purposes for creation.
