THE HEART OF PAUL'S THEOLOGY
INSTRUCTIONS FOR LESSON 4: PAUL AND THE CORINTHIANS


Preparation

Before starting the lesson, you should access the lecture for this lesson, either in the form of video, audio file, or manuscript. You should have already downloaded the study guides for the whole course.

Goals and Objectives

GOALS

We would like to accomplish the following in this lesson:

1. We hope you will understand the background, the key subjects, and the major theological issues that Paul deals with in his letters to the Corinthians.

2. We hope you will be convinced of the importance of the ethical principles dealt with in Paul's letters to the Corinthians and that you will develop a desire to live according to those principles.

3. We hope that you will apply key teachings from 1 and 2 Corinthians to your own life, especially that you live your life in a wholesome way, loving others, anticipating the return of Christ, while avoiding the errors of the Corinthians.

OBJECTIVES

When you do the following, it will show that the goals are met:

1. Obtain satisfactory grades on the tests, demonstrating that you understand the background, the key subjects, and the major theological issues that Paul deals with in his letters to the Corinthians. 

2. Answer the application questions in the study guides, expressing your attitude regarding the ethical principles taught in 1 and 2 Corinthians, and showing how the course has affected your life, especially that you are loving others, anticipating the return of Christ, while avoiding the "over-realized eschatology" error of the Corinthians.
