THE HEART OF PAUL'S THEOLOGY
INSTRUCTIONS FOR LESSON 3: PAUL AND THE THESSALONIANS


Preparation

Before starting the lesson, you should access the lecture for this lesson, either in the form of video, audio file, or manuscript. You should have already downloaded the study guides for the whole course.

Goals and Objectives

GOALS

In this lesson, we would like to accomplish the following:

1. We hope you will learn important information about the background, the key subjects, and the major theological issues that Paul deals with in his letters to the Thessalonians

2. We hope that you will develop a more biblical attitude toward the second coming of Christ.

3. We hope you will apply the lessons from the letters to the Thessalonians to your own life, especially that you live in anticipation of Christ's return, trusting in the grace of God and avoiding the errors of the Thessalonians.

OBJECTIVES

When you do the following, it will show that the goals are met: 

1. Obtain satisfactory grades on the tests, demonstrating that you can identify important information about the background, the key subjects, and the major theological issues that Paul deals with in his letters to the Thessalonians.

2. Answer the application questions in the study guides, expressing your attitude regarding the second coming of Christ, and showing how you have applied the teachings of the lesson to your own life, especially that you are living in anticipation of Christ's return, trusting in the grace of God and avoiding the "overheated eschatology" error of the Thessalonians.
