Goals and Objectives

GOALS

In this lesson, we would like to accomplish the following:

1. We hope you will make use of all the resources and activities of the lesson to understand major ways in which interpreters have described the meaning of Scripture and which of these is most appropriate.

2. We hope you will continue to develop greater interest in studying the Scriptures carefully.

3. We hope you make some changes in your life, especially the way you study the Bible, using the "dialogical" approach to investigate the meaning.

OBJECTIVES

When you have done the following, it will show that the goals are met:

1. Obtain satisfactory grades on the tests, demonstrating that you can identify and distinguish the objective approach to meaning, the subjective approach to meaning, and the dialogical approach to meaning, as well as the reasons for preferring the dialogical approach.
