BUILDING YOUR THEOLOGY 
INSTRUCTIONS FOR LESSON 2: EXPLORING CHRISTIAN THEOLOGY


Preparation

Before starting the lesson, you should obtain the lecture for this lesson, either in the form of video, audio file, or manuscript. You should have already downloaded the study guides for the whole course.


The lesson is divided into the following sections:

1) Christian Theology
2) Theological Traditions
3) Reformed Tradition


Goals and Objectives

GOALS

In this lesson, we would like to accomplish the following:

1. We hope you will make use of all the resources and activities of the lesson to learn to distinguish some of the key differences between Christianity and other world religions, and between different tendencies in Christian theology.

2. We hope you will become more interested in understanding and defining your own theological tradition, as well as dialoguing respectfully with those from other traditions.

3. We hope you make some changes in your life as a response to the teachings of this lesson, especially that you are able to identify the theological emphasis of biblical passages and to distinguish the theological tradition of contemporary quotes.

OBJECTIVES

When you have done the following, it will show that the goals are met:

1. Obtain satisfactory grades on the tests, demonstrating that you can identify major doctrinal differences between Christianity and other major world religions, between different tendencies within Christianity, and between Reformed theology and other Protestant tendencies.

2. Answer the application questions in the study guides, expressing your sentiments regarding your own theological tradition, and showing that you are able to identify the theological emphasis of biblical passages and to distinguish the theological tradition of contemporary quotes.

1. Study the first section of the lesson. (Segments 1-5)

Remember: You can study the lesson by watching the video, listening to the audio, or reading the manuscript.

2. Use Study Guide 2.1 to assimilate the teaching. Use the outline for taking notes, answer the review questions, and answer the application questions.   

3. Take Quiz 2.1.

SECTION 2

1. Study section 2 of the lesson, using Study Guide 2.2. (Segments 6-9)

2. Take Quiz 2.2.

SECTION 3

1. Study section 3 of the lesson, using Study Guide 2.3. (Segments 10-15)

2. Take Quiz 2.3. 

REVIEW

1. Review all the study guides of the lesson, preparing for the test on the whole lesson. 

2. Take the Cumulative Test.
