INSTRUCTIONS FOR LESSON 4:
Preparation

GOALS
In this lesson, we would like to accomplish the following:
1. We hope you will make use of all the resources and activities of the lesson to understand the meaning and importance of God's plan and the works He uses to accomplish it.
2. We hope you will gain greater peace and joy as you understand that God has a sovereign plan and that He is working it out in history.
3. We hope you make some changes in your life as a response to the teachings of this lesson, especially that you are trusting God to fulfill His perfect plan.
OBJECTIVES
When you have done the following, it will show that the goals are met:
1. Obtain satisfactory grades on the tests, demonstrating that you: a) understand how God's immanence and transcendence interact in history, b) can identify the difference between fatalism, open theology, and the biblical perspective of God's sovereignty, c) understand the theological debate regarding the order of God's decrees, c) understand the debate regarding the relationship between God's decrees and His foreknowledge, d) understand how God uses second causes, and e) can identify the meaning of terms such as "theodicy," "pantheism," "dualism," "polytheism," and "providence."
2. Answer the application questions in the study guides, showing how you are applying the teachings of the lesson to your own life, especially that you are trusting God to fulfill His perfect plan.
