Justification

Biblically understood, it is a divine verdict by which God declares a believer righteous by grace through faith.

Key fruit of the Spirit. Without this, the manifestation of the spiritual gifts is only useless and annoying. This is the only virtue that continues in the fullness of the age to come.

Name of an ancient Roman province located in and to the north of present-day Greece; region where Paul was told in a vision to go and share the gospel during his second missionary journey

Island in the Mediterranean where Paul was shipwrecked on his fourth missionary journey

Ordo Salutis

Theological term for the order of the way salvation is applied to a believer

Over-realized

Term used by Dr. Kidd to describe the eschatological perspective that believes that the age to come has already come and that the present age of sin and death has largely ceased to exist. This was prominent among the Corinthians.

Overheated

Name that Dr. Kidd gives to the eschatology of the Thessalonians, who thought the coming age was already here or about to occur soon

City where God sent an earthquake to allow Paul and Silas to escape from prison

Silas

Companion of Paul on his second missionary journey. Joined him when Barnabas wanted to take John Mark along, but Paul disagreed and they separated.
