INSTRUCTIONS FOR LESSON 2: PREPARATION FOR INTERPRETATION
Preparation
Access the lecture for this lesson, either in the form of video, audio file, or manuscript. You should have already downloaded the study guides for the whole course.

GOALS
In this lesson, we would like to accomplish the following:
1. We hope you will learn how to prepare properly before studying the Scriptures.
2. We hope you will grow in your sense of dependence on the Holy Spirit to interpret the Scriptures properly, but also in your awareness of the need to make a personal effort.
3. We hope you make some changes in the way you study the Scriptures as a response to the teachings of this lesson, especially in the way you prepare to study the Scriptures and in the personal effort you make to study the Scriptures seriously.
OBJECTIVES
When you have done the following, it will show that the goals are met:
1. Obtain satisfactory grades on the tests, demonstrating that you understand how the Scriptures were inspired, why we depend on the Holy Spirit for understanding them properly, and why we also need to make a personal effort to study them.
2. Answer the application questions in the study guides, expressing your sense of dependence on the Holy Spirit to interpret the Scriptures properly, but also your commitment to make a personal effort to study them seriously.
ASSIGNMENTS

1. Study the first section of the lesson.

2. Use Study Guide 2.1 to assimilate the teaching. Use the outline for taking notes, answer the review questions, and answer the application questions.
