Inspiration

Theological term that refers to the fact that God guided the human authors of the Scriptures to write exactly what He wanted them to write.

Kingdom of God

God’s rule over God's people in God's place

Mechanical

When speaking of views of inspiration, this is the view that proposes that the Holy Spirit essentially dictated the Bible, and human writers passively recorded what he said.

Organic

When speaking of views of inspiration, this is the view that proposes that the Holy Spirit used the personalities, experiences, outlooks, and intentions of human authors as he guided their writing.


R

Romantic

When speaking of different views of inspiration, this is the view that proposes that the Holy Spirit inspired biblical writers in the same way secular poets or musicians might be moved to write.


S

Sovereignty

Theological term that refers to God's continuing rule over all creation


T

This age

Phrase often used by rabbis and leaders in Israel to describe the present age of sin, suffering and death that exists since the Fall
