H

Hezekiah

After a period of co-regency with his father, he was the sole regent of Judah from around 715 B.C. to 686 B.C. Early on, he continued his father's alliance with Assyria and its gods. He soon broke with Assyria, but relied on the strength of his army, his fortified cities and an alliance with Egypt for protection against Assyria, rather than trusting in the Lord.

Hoshea

The king that Assyria placed on Israel's throne. He promoted idolatry and injustice, and turned to Egypt and their gods for protection. (Not to be confused with the name of the prophet with a slightly different spelling!)
