Shechem

In the time of Joshua, the tribes of Israel assembled here to renew the covenant. It was also the first site where Abraham built an altar to God in the Promised Land, and it was in the vicinity of Mount Gerizim and Mount Ebal, where Moses had commanded Israel to renew their covenant with God.
