INSTRUCTIONS FOR LESSON 7: THE PURPOSE OF PREDICTIONS


Preparation

Goals and Objectives

GOALS

In this lesson, we would like to accomplish the following:

1. We hope you will make use of all the resources and activities of the lesson to learn how the fulfillment of prophecy sometimes depends on human reactions.

2. We hope you will joyfully embrace a proper view of God's providence that harmonizes with a biblical view of prophecy.

3. We hope you make some changes in your life as a response to the teachings of this lesson. It should affect your trust in God's sovereignty, while recognizing the importance of your own responsibility and of prayer.

OBJECTIVES

When you have done the following, it will show that the goals are met:

1. Obtain a satisfactory grade on the quiz, demonstrating that you can identify the key biblical concepts regarding divine predictions and the contingent nature of some prophecies.

2. Answer the application questions in the study guide, expressing your attitude regarding God's providence in relation to prophecy, and showing that you trust in God's sovereignty, while recognizing the importance of your own responsibility and of prayer.
