MAKING BIBLICAL DECISIONS 
INSTRUCTIONS FOR LESSON 5: THE SITUATIONAL PERSPECTIVE; REVELATION AND SITUATION

Preparation

Access the lecture for this lesson, either in the form of video, audio file, or manuscript. You should have already downloaded the study guides for the whole course.


This lesson has four main sections:

1) Content of Revelation
2) Nature of Revelation
3) Strategies toward Revelation
4) Application of Revelation


Goals and Objectives

GOALS

In this lesson, we would like to accomplish the following:

1. We hope you will make use of all the resources and activities of the lesson to learn the biblical teaching about how to take into account the situation in making ethical decisions.

2. We hope you will become convinced of the importance of taking into account the situation when making ethical decisions.

3. We hope you make some changes in your life as a response to the teachings of this lesson, especially that you begin to properly consider the situation when you make ethical decisions.

OBJECTIVES

When you have done the following, it will show that the goals are met:

1. Obtain satisfactory grades on the tests, demonstrating that you can identify key biblical teachings about the situational character of revelation, that you can identify the meaning of goals and means, that you can identify incorrect strategies for taking into account the situational character of revelation, and that you can identify examples of changes in application of ethical principles in different periods of the Bible, especially with regard to dietary laws.

2. Answer the application questions in the study guides, expressing your attitude regarding the importance of the situation in making ethical decisions, and showing that  you properly consider the situation when you make ethical decisions.

1. Study the first section of the lesson.  

Remember: You can study the lesson by watching the video, listening to the audio, or reading the manuscript.

2. Use Study Guide 5.1 to assimilate the teaching. Use the outline for taking notes, answer the review questions, and answer the application questions.   

3. Take Quiz 5.1.

SECTION 2

1. Study section 2 of the lesson, using Study Guide 5.2. 

2. Take Quiz 5.2.

SECTION 3

1. Study section 3 of the lesson, using Study Guide 5.3.

2. Take Quiz 5.3. 

SECTION 4

1. Study section 4 of the lesson, using Study Guide 5.4.

2. Take Quiz 5.4. 

REVIEW

1. Review all the study guides of the lesson, preparing for the test on the whole lesson. 

2. Take the Cumulative Test.
