INSTRUCTIONS FOR LESSON 4: A WORLD OF VIOLENCE


Preparation

Access the lecture for this lesson, either in the form of video, audio file, or manuscript. You should have already downloaded the study guides for the whole course.

Goals and Objectives

GOALS

In this lesson, we would like to accomplish the following:

1. We hope you will make use of all the resources and activities of the lesson to learn the literary structure, the original meaning, and the modern application of Genesis 4:1-6:8.

2. We hope you will grow in your love for Christ and His plan of salvation, in your patience to confront suffering, and in your joy due to the hope of future liberation. 

3. We hope you make some changes in your life as a response to the teachings of this lesson, especially that you learn to struggle against violence and evil in the world.

OBJECTIVES

When you have done the following, it will show that the goals are met:

1. Obtain satisfactory grades on the tests, demonstrating that you can identify the literary structure of Genesis 4:1-6:8, the parallels between this passage and the experience of Israel at the time of Moses, and the New Testament use of this passage in teaching about salvation in Christ.

2. Answer the application questions in the study guides, expressing your sentiments regarding Christ, suffering, and salvation, and showing how you struggle against violence and evil in the world.

1. Study section 3 of the lesson, using Study Guide 4.3.

2. Take Quiz 4.3. 

REVIEW

1. Review all the study guides of the lesson, preparing for the test on the whole lesson. 

2. Take the Cumulative Test.
