INSTRUCTIONS FOR LESSON 3: THE LIFE OF ABRAHAM: MODERN APPLICATION


Preparation

Access the lecture for this lesson, either in the form of video, audio file, or manuscript. You should have already downloaded the study guides for the whole course.


The lesson is divided into the following sections:

1) Abraham and Jesus
2) Israel and the Church


Goals and Objectives

GOALS

In this lesson, we would like to accomplish the following:

1. We hope you will make use of all the resources and activities of the lesson to learn the proper way to make modern application of the story of Abraham, especially with regard to Jesus and the Church.

2. We hope you will develop a desire to make the proper modern application of the book of Genesis.

3. We hope your faith in Christ is strengthened as a response to the teachings of this lesson, that your participation in the church is more effective, and that your interpretation of passages in Genesis is more appropriate.

OBJECTIVES

When you have done the following, it will show that the goals are met:

1. Obtain satisfactory grades on the tests, demonstrating that you can identify the meaning of the "seed" of Abraham and how the themes from the life of Abraham are fulfilled in Christ and in the Church.

2. Answer the application questions in the study guides, expressing your attitude regarding making application of the book of Genesis, and showing how you have applied the teachings of this lesson, especially that your faith in Christ is strengthened, that your participation in the church is more effective, and that your interpretation of passages in Genesis is more appropriate.

1. Study section 2 of the lesson, using Study Guide 3.2. 

2. Take Quiz 3.2.

REVIEW

1. Review all the study guides of the lesson, preparing for the test on the whole lesson. 

2. Take the Cumulative Test.

REVIEW OF ALL THE LECTURES

1. Review all the lessons.

2. Take the Final Exam on all the lectures.

OTHER REQUIRED ACTIVITIES

1. Complete the Supplementary Lesson.
